The “Vin’ la Teatru” theatre festival began in Focşani, during the 2013 spring break, when a handful of youngsters said to themselves that it can happen. Giving life to a theatre during the summer can happen, filling the theatre halls night by night, wanting to come to school during the holidays can happen.
This is how Vrancea County’s first professional, independent and voluntary theatre festival came to be.
“Vin’ la Teatru” encourages people that are driven, the generation which is just starting out that speaks about the world in which we live, addressing relevant topics of the world around us, and that is eager to try a type of education that is different.
We believe that theater means dialogue, so this is why we want to bring the stage closer to the audience. In addition to encouraging artistic debut and a discussion-friendly environment, we want to actively participate in the development of taste for culture, offering alternative means of education.
The festival has become a five day opportunity for an occasion for young performers from across the country, high school volunteers and the local community to join efforts in creating a very special event.
In 2013 , “Vin’ la Teatru” opened the doors of the "Maior Gh. Pastia" Municipal Theatre and offered more than 1,600 theater lovers four days of free access to enjoy 8 of the most awarded undergraduate theatre plays of the National University of Theatre and Film “I. L. Caragiale”, Bucharest, and a chance to meet the 45 young artists invited to be part of the story of “Vin’ la Teatru”.
For the second edition we aim even higher. With the support of our Honorary President, Radu Afrim, we want to offer five days brimming with theatre:
Partners: National University of Theatre and Film "I. L. Caragiale "- Bucharest, "Lucian Blaga" University - Sibiu, University of the Arts - Târgu Mureş, "Uniriştii" Association, NexT Cultural Society
Focşani City Hall and Local Council, the Department for Culture Vrancea, the Municipal Theater "Maior Gh. Pastia"
Media Partners: Liternet.ro, Yorick, Ziarul Metropolis, Ziarul de Vrancea, Monitorul de Vrancea
In 2014, the “Vin’ la Teatru” festival wants to grow in a year as others do in ten! In addition to expanding the festival to include more events , we want to inaugurate and the "Junior" section, dedicated to the little ones which aims to make theatre-going a habit of childhood.
“Vin’ la Teatru Junior” means that we do our best to support young actors specialized in children's theatre, but most importantly that we make children’s stories come alive.
From July 10th to 13th , “Vin’ la Teatru Junior” will bring the little ones :
