We are talking to you because you are always actively a part of your child's education. You are always testing new activities and courses to complete the education your child receives at school and at home. That is why we want to support you in facilitating a solid education and assuring a good start in life to your kid.
Do you ever lose sleep over thinking about the way the future in which your child will live look like? How will his day to day life look like? What skills will he need in order to have a balanced, happy life by being satisfied with what he is doing?
We asked ourselves this questions as well. We believe that experience and practice ease quick and long-term learning. We believe that experimenting and exploring influence educated decision making throughout life.
This is why we found the answer to these questions in creating the non-formal education program KIDULT, through which children aged 10 to 14 years develop their skills, behaviors and attitudes by implementing projects in real life.
Here are some examples:
This is why your support is needed! We want to make this program available to as many children as possible.
Let’s imagine the learning process as a bicycle – our learning vehicle.
On her way, the bicycle is pushed forward by the back wind. This represents your support, of the parent, of the school and society. A wind blows, however, from the front as well, slowing the bicycle down. It represents learning methods unadapted to a world changing at a fast pace.
Our program follows 4 steps in transforming your kinder into a teenager with values and, then, in a successful adult:
The 4 steps bring movement to the bicycle, grow its resistance and direct it towards its destination: the necessary attitude for succes in the 21st century.
The back wheal represents action:
Action is the first step in training. Through imitation, exploring and experimanting we get to know the surrounding world and our boundries. Once acknowledged, these can be surpassed.
The action component is set in motio through practical activities fulfilled by the children in a real environment (actually implementing the project). Repeated action is the one that forms, in time, abilities that transform into skils.
The front wheal represents skills:
Skills are the second step in training. They give us the opportunity to have a positive impact on the people around us and our surrounding environment.
This component assures knowledge acquiring in the areas necessary to the project implementation: project management, marketing, sales, product development, promotion, finanance, technology. Exercised and constantly improved skills lead to behavior creation.
The road under the bicycle represents the behavior:
Behavior is the third step in training, the fundament of the future adult, which determines him to build healthy relationships and set clear objectives for the future. Behavior assures an efficient use of skills.
Each module of our program is built upon this, so that through learning techniques and methods we develop the 4Cs: Creativity, Critical thinking, Communication and Collaboration. Purposeful and constructive behavior trains in time attitudes.
The destination of the bicycle is attitude:
Attitude is the forth step in training, the backcone of adult life. With a positive attitude we can take on the dynamics and challenges of life in a constructive and balanced manner, always living at maximum potential. Positive attitude closes the education circle through stimulating powerful actions.
This process represents the general objective of our program: a full learning experience which combined actions, skills and behaviors towards training the attitude necessary for success in the 21st century.
We created a program formed of 6 modules each of 2-4h, representing the 6 consecutive stages from presenting a business idea to implementing it in a real environment. Each module has a fixed structure: through the actions the children will fulfill to achieve their objectives, skills and behaviors will be developed.
We, also, organized a series of interviews with parents with children aged 10 to 14 years, to better identify the needs for a non-formal education program for children. The gathered results contributed a great deal towards developing the program and have been included within each module.
Furthermore, we initiated discussions with schools and afterschools to identify collaboration opportunities and ways to include our program in their curricula.
We, Alina Ionescu and Ioana Ceausu, are the co-creators of this program. We met in 1993, during the first day of school, and 22 years later we came together out of our desire to contribute to the children’s education, the future adults.
We are passionate about a tuneful development and growth of people and organizations, which contributed to a beautiful experience in consultancy and training. Also, we are both Process Communication Model certified trainers.
We live education daily in her present form through the perspective of both our mothers, which are teachers. This is why we understand the need of the school for the children’s education, and we also identified its blind spots.
Among our recent achievements we are proud of a PhD (Ioana) and a baby-girl (Alina).
In the terms we set for deploying the program, there is no reasonable ground for the project not to take place. We are determined to make this program available to as many children as possible, because we believe in the need of a practice oriented education.
One fine body…
