First edition was held in 2011. The second EBienale edition is held during September, 1st to 28, and its theme refers to the XXIst century technology, lights and color.
EBienale is not included in the Enescu festival’s budget, so the curators are struggling to achieve private support in order for EBienale to happen!
The purpose for an art biennal during a symphonic music festival as George Enescu Festival is to create a common ground for the art world, where music lovers and visual art public can meet. The Enescu Festival is an international scene where the highest names of contemporary music are evolving in front of a numerous public: Daniel Barenboim, Radu Lupu, well-known organist Cameron Carpenter, Paavo Jarvi and many others for this edition only!
EBienale also creates a precedent by connecting for a month, main art galleries in Bucharest, our gallery-partners who are exhibiting EBienale selection of works. They await your visit, all you have to do is come to The Palace Hall and The Atheneum, collect your EBienale circuit-map and start discovering Bucharest art galleries!
For this edition of EBienale, we will transform the green parks outside the concert halls in the “Festival’s Gardens” (The Palace Hall and The Atheneum parks), through art projects “on the green grass”, projects to be seen by both the Enescu Festival’s public and also by everyone who loves an interesting itinerary of an open space temporary art gallery. The garden shall be visible by day, and also by night, after the public exits the concert halls. Hope they will have a magical experience!
For this magic to happen, as the young curator’s team (Ilina Schileru, Roxana Gibescu, Daniel Djamo, Mihai Zgondoiu, Raluca Baloiu) is hoping for, we need support to finance the finishing touches of the art installations the artists are working hard to be ready until the 1st of September. Some artists should arrive from Great Britain and Norway and we need to assure their transportation and accommodation in EBienale. Some of the transportation are already paid, but some is still not.
The money we gather thanks to your support through the crowd funding experience we will use to cover materials expenses such as sprays, lights and transportation for works that have been paid by the artists who really wanted their works to be finished in time for the official opening on the 1st of September, water at workshops, trainers, posters, colored sprays for happenings during EBienale and so on.
Without your help, many of these wonderful art projects shall only remain on paper.
We also thought about some rewards for our supporters
